Since we are unaware of what the future holds for new social distancing and sanitation requirements at events and recreational programs due to the impact of COVID-19 on our state and community, the Jersey City Department of Recreation & Youth Development will be cancelling or postponing all programs, events, and facility rentals through June 30, 2020. All Summer Camp programs are also on hold.

Our hope is the delay will allow us to re-evaluate our events and programs with new guidance so they continue to be a safe gathering place for youth, families, and community members to come together in a safe, fun and affordable way. Anyone who has already registered for programs and events that required fees through the end of May will be receiving refunds.

We encourage you to take advantage of our open City parks for passive activities. As a reminder, face coverings are required at all City parks for those ages 2 and older.

A reminder Jersey City government buildings remain closed until further notice in response to government recommendations for preventing the spread of COVID-19. Staff is reachable by phone (201) 547-5003 or by email recreation@jcnj.org.
